Kinematic assessment of bradykinesia due to focal basal ganglia lesions: a series of two ischemic stroke cases

Published:September 29, 2022DOI:

      • We report two cases of unilateral parkinsonism due to ischemic basal ganglia lesions.
      • The lesions involved the substantia nigra in Case 1 and the striatum in Case 2.
      • We assessed bradykinesia in patients with an optoelectronic motion system.
      • We found that bradykinesia had different features in relation to lesion topography.
      • Our finding may contribute to current hypotheses on bradykinesia pathophysiology.
